Kayla looks pretty happy in this picture, especially considering she is getting her top two teeth right now! She has also learned a new word..."No". Whenever we tell her no she says it right back to us...which is actually pretty funny.

Kayla Took Her First Step
On Saturday afternoon, Kayla took her first step! Mike was holding her and when he went to set her down, she stood on her own two feet with no assistance. This by itself was shocking but then she took a step! After trying to take a second step, she plopped down on her bottom. I am so proud of her! I feel so blessed that she waited until the weekend to do it so that I could see it happen!
Another new thing Kayla said this weekend was "hi". I was holding her, and when Jake came in the room I told her "Say hi to your Dad". She looked right at Jake and said "Hi". We were like OH MY GOSH!
I can't believe how many things she is learning and doing in such a short period of time! The picture of her is from this weekend, enjoying her sippy cup of water.

Ten Months Old & First Tooth
Well, yesterday marked Kayla's tenth month of life and I am really shocked that she will be a YEAR old in two months! Along with her ten month birthday came a tooth! Well, the start of a tooth anyway. It's popping out enough that when I run my finger over it I can feel it but not much more than that.
Here's a funny story about how I discovered the tooth: I was about to put her in the bath & I was kissing and tickling her. Doing this makes her laugh and she was was laughing out loud with her mouth wide open and that's when I saw the white popping through her gums! I ran my finger over it to check and sure enough, it was a tooth! I ran her outside to where Jake was washing my car even though she was butt naked and I held her up and yelled "she has a tooth! she finally has a tooth" over and over...
I would love to post a picture but unfortunatly Kayla is in no way, shape or form going to let me get a picture of it! She keeps getting her little tiny baby tongue in the way! Oh well, I tried...
